Elbow, Wrist, Hand, and Microsurgery Specialist

Dr. Lewis earned his bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from Texas A&M University. He received his medical training from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. He completed his internship in general surgery at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, TX. He also took part in a fellowship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX. He has completed fellowships in hand and microsurgery in Houston, as well. Prior to coming to Tupelo, he worked at the Naval Hospital in Camp Lejeune, NC. He is board-certified and specializes in orthopaedic surgery of the elbow, wrist, and hand.

Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune. Staff Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon. Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of all orthopaedic issues related to the elbow, wrist, and hand. Surgical skills involved in the management of soft tissue injuries, arthroscopic evaluation and treatment of the elbow and wrist, and management of acute and chronic trauma to the upper extremity. Duties also involve general orthopaedic call coverage.

Staff Care Inc. Locums tenens emergency room orthopaedic coverage. Emergency evaluation and treatment of orthopaedic injuries. Assignments have been completed in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

Texas Orthopaedic Hospital. Orthopaedic Coverage. Responsible for evaluation and acute treatment of patients with predominately orthopeadic issues presenting to the Emergency Room. Provided call coverage including inpatient rounding for Fondren Orthopaedic Group physicians.
